Pharmacology 54 Hours Theory Course Work
METHOD 3:
Qualification based on Equivalent Education and/or Experience Authority per section 2870 Vocational Nursing Practice Act and Section 2516(b) of the California Code of Regulations. Pursuant to the California Code of Regulations Section 2156(b), the 51 months of paid bedside nursing experience must include a minimum of 48 months medical/surgical nursing, 5 weeks maternity or genitourinary nursing, and 5 weeks pediatric nursing. The majority of this experience must have occurred in a general acute care facility providing the types of patient care that will prepare the applicant for the content topics covered in the licensure exam. It is required that all required experience occurred within the last 10 years with half within the last five years. See board site for more information.
Pharmacology THCCE 101
This course is for individuals who have an interest in becoming Licensed Vocational nurses. It requires discipline and commitment by each individual and is a self paced, home study package. This is only the theory portion of pharmacology, you are required to complete all clinical hours and signed off by your supervisor to meet all board requirements.
Amount: $425.00 (plus tax/shipping & handling)
Duration: 90 days from date of receipt
Extensions: If the student discovers that more time is needed the student must contact the instructor via email to request for an extension of one (1) week which will be approved at the discretion of the instructor. Request must be made at least 3 days before expiration.
Score: A passing score of 70% is required

The course work is essay type and is designed to engage the student for equivalent of 54 hours in total. All work must be shown, please do not give just the answers on questions that require calculation, you must show the steps that led up to the answer. We also prefer that all work is clean, clear and written in the package sent to you by Total Healthcare Continuing Education. Students are responsible for purchasing the suggested books for this course.

GENERAL OBSERVATIONS:
Pharmacology is a basic science on a par with physiology, microbiology, chemistry, etc and demands similar study skills and time commitments in order to learn and apply drug knowledge.
Pharmacology will also draw from anatomy, physiology, chemistry and mathematics.
